Welcome to the official biography site of Sebb/. The Funk Phenomena. Sebastijan Ćamilji is his name behind his artist name. Sebb/. plays with his soul, his heart dances all across the space. He is in with the intention to fulfill you with his vibe all over and into you, with a goal to leave you with a full heart before going to the afterparty. With his class and elegance he conquers you and the dance floor every single time.

Since he was a kid his dream was always to have something to do with music - ofcourse, who could imagine a life without. His love for music stretches back to his youth, when he was a promising junior football player before a back injury shifted his path towards music. This was to much controverse, everybody had low-believe in this, in him or his music, there was no precedent for it. It was hard to get an opportunity for these things. The people he comes from are a minority, and it was very difficult and poor, how they were known by, the coloured people or somebody that had something to do with them no matter what their language would be, if it was Albanian, Persian or whatever. This is all because the war that happened. He always followed his dream, giving up meant you're a failure so he believed every day. It was hard for him to believe if he was going to make it, but he did know with certainity that he was going to try it and give it's all. People always thought he was joking or that it was crazy by having such a dream, to them it was outside normal senses. But gues what? They was wrong - it's difficult to know everything. It has been a long road with alot of bounderies and setbacks but now he's come full circle to get to this point. You've already heard it, born the same, built diffrent.

Satisfied so far with his accomplishment, living international and a succesfull DJ like this, gratefull, simple, a person less normal somebody than you're used to. Coming out of a family who's musically rich. Born in Croatia on the 22nd of the Summer Solstice before noon 15 minutes. Decending from the Gypsie/Romani/Ashkali people with Illyrian roots counted as an Arbanas Croatian today. A Bosnian mother who knows how to play accordion, so from that part music is an natural something. Had his first mini Casio keyboard with the age of four. Now stationed in The Netherlands enjoying the upper hemisphere playing Funky Stuff mostly among Deep, Tech MNML, House and who knows where else he's finding his Groove in, you can expect Funk but also everything from Jazz, Blues - you name it - blended in a 4/4 beat. Aka for his other synonyms like Sebb and Sebb D'Groove.

Music has always been a big thing, much more than a waveform or entertainment. Agreed that it was a way of evolving as an individual human beiing. In the earlier days after returning to his birthtown from The Netherlands influenced by various music like Europop, Hardbeats, Industrial and Bandlike Electronics. Things happened when he came across House and Techno - at the time, those are the spots he regularly attended, it was needed to get away from home - sort avoiding everyday utopia. After a while of raving, again, things happened. The rave scene was a huge thing for him, still admires it. Then one day he visited a friend and gues what - this friend had turntables, when he was almost a younger adult, around that period. So that was important musically. Curiously his journey in music continued and began spending time on analizing, researching different DJ sets and acts on the electronical area.

The scene was blooming thruout the underground, a nice fact is that Rijeka or Stato Libero Citta di Fiume how it was called is rich in history. Many achievments thruout the past and alot of ancient monuments. Worth mentioning it, also across Croatia. Rijeka was also back then the main seaport of Yugoslavia and had also one of the two underground spaces where all the vynils were kept hidden in Europe during WWII. The other one is stationed in the city of Paris what was a secret ofcorse, the beginnings of dance music were composed mainly by African or other foreign nationalities at that time. In 2020 Rijeka became "The European Capital of Culture".

So lets get back. As time passed by it began to become easy to recognize himself and experience the people aswell the scene. It all started from where he could improve and create his own expression and idea besides a Dutch background, but this was less than enough to stop the pursuit and interest wich took the whole thing to the next level – behind the decks.

Establishing place on line-ups, boats, clubs, parties evolving a own style – a style that consist a mixed variation of genres between House, Funk, Techno, and Tech-House always keepin' that experimental live vibe. Wich sounds great. This was the first step in the story that will follow a clear direction, perennial, search, education and career on the electronic music scene.

Residencies

2007/08 resident DJ at the cult club - Fun Academy what actually is the first underground club space on the territory of exYugoslavia.

In 2009 residency in one of the first underground clubs in Rijeka (Stato Libero Citta di Fiume) - Tesla.

2009 second residency on Island Pag - The Calypso Club. What became a destination for the electronic music scene and is hosting known festivals like Sonus, Hideout, Awakenings etc.

2010 winter residency at the new club - La Noche (ex. Fun Academy).

2010 becomes a part of the biggest collective of electronic music in East-Europe and wider with GGentertainment thereby reaching unimaginable hights, holding four diffrent residencies at once.

Sebb is playing along with a lot of important DJ's and was influenced by these artists. So that was nice. A own style that is always improved and modified but focusing on generating atmospheres, emotions and feelings thruout the mixes and DJ sets are well known for their groove and sophisticated underground sound. Some that shared the same desk are artists such as Petar Dundov, Dejan Milicevic, James Zabiela, Solomun, Alen Sforzina, Ivan Mastermix, Jonathan Ulysses and the list goes on.

Clubs like Fun Academy, Fort Bourgegnon, Papaya, Kalypso, Ambasada Gavioli, Disko Klub Tesla etc.

Appearance

Apearing on Radio Shows on stations like Croatian Rijeka (Stato Libero Citta di Fiume) Svid Radio and Croatian National Radio and Television Rijeka, Hystrias Puola Radio Maestral, American Proton Radio hitting 2nd place for the top100 scale of July 2010 among John Digweed and Joris Voorn, Serbian Belgrade B92 Marko Nastics Music4Body&Soul, Bulgarian Echocity FM, Ibizas Stardust Radio, Dutch Open Source Radio etc.

This experience helped him to gain his intensions and creativity in his work same as practice in his skills. So ofcourse - a lot is yet to come.
